The town of Castiglione a Casauria (PE) is 350 m. above sea level on a long rocky spur flanking the Pescara River valley in the Gran Sasso-Laga National Park. It has less than 900 inhabitants and the houses are set against the main street which is also rich in ancient churches and palaces. There are some essential services in the town.In the flat part of its downstream territory stands the famous Abbey of San Clemente a Casauria (9th-12th century), a national monument.
