Corvara is a town of about 260 inhabitants at 625 m asl in the Prov. of Pescara which is about 50 km away. The ancient village is mainly made up of stone houses built on the “straw” rock, after having been almost totally abandoned in the last century, it has been the object of recovery and enhancement in recent years as it is also in an area close to the Gran Sasso National Park. Currently most of the inhabitants reside in the new town downstream with the seat of the Municipality and in the numerous Contrade. In the area there are some restaurants and farmhouses. There are bus connections with the nearby towns, the motorway and the railway station are about 15 km away (Torre dei Passeri), the city of Pescara with the airport and the beaches of the Adriatic Sea at 50 km.
